Spencer was confused. He wanted to ask Mia to the dance, but he wasn't sure HOW. So, as DJ played, and Aimee studied, he paced. He liked to pace to think. Of course, Aimee HAD to notice him pacing, talking to himself.
She sighed, and spoke.
I don't care. I am going to tell you anyway. Let me write it, and then YOU can send it. She turned to her laptop before he could protest, and typed away. A bit later, she turned to him.
Here, read this while I make lunch.[/b] He sighed, picked up DJ, and sat down to read. Actually, it was quite good. He modified some of it to meet HIS words, and then sent it on.

Mia,
I am writing to ask you to the Hangar dance on the 15th, day after Valentine's Day. Aimee says that we can pick you up at 5, or else you can meet us there.
Hope to hear from you soon.
-Spencer.
He sighed, and hit send. Oh, well, he didn't know how else to say that.

Mia had been planning on going to the gym for a workout later that day. She had been watching Doctor Who and cleaning all day. The blonde enjoyed her working out, keeping herself fit and able to do all that she had spent years learning and trainging her body to do.
Of course, she did have her laptop open. She was working on setting up a Skype account, to no avail. When, she heard the "You;ve got mail" come from her laptop.
So, Mia quickly walked over to her laptop and clicked the needed keys to gain entry to her email.
"An email from Spencer?" The blonde tilted her head to the side in curiosity.

Mia stood in shock at what she just read. Had Spencer REALLY just asked HER to go to this dance with him? The idea brought a smile to her lips. She thought Valentine's Day was a sweet holiday, personally. Some of her co workers, even her peers, would complain about being single on the day. Mia never minded though.
What should she say? The blonde knew she was not doing anything that night, so she could not say she was busy. It was not like there were any probable reason why she would possibly have to cancel either, unless a case came up. So, she checked the schedule, and the team was not the team on call that week.
She did not want to seem rude. Of course, Mia also did not want to seem overly enthusiastic about the request. How to respond, that was the question.
Then, a simple,, yet elegant idea popped into Mia's head. She took the needed moments to consider it and the possible outcomes. The possible outcomes did not seem to be at all negative. So, Mia sat down at her laptop and quickly replied to Spencer's email.

Mia clicked send and smiled as her email went flying through cyberspace.

Spencer and the family finished lunch, and moved on with their day. As promised, Spencer drove Aimee to the mall for her shopping trip while he took DJ to the park near the mall that Aimee preferred. They were gone most of the afternoon, and after stopping at the grocery store to get deli food for dinner, they went home.
Spencer checked his email-this was a habit. He checked it several times a day in case he got called into work, or had to deal with a case while out of the office. He saw an email from Mia, and he clicked it. He smiled as he read.
She had replied simply "yes," and he looked up at Aimee, who was putting some food together for DJ.
Ames. Mia said Yes. Your email worked! Ok, sometimes Aimee was a bit obnoxious, but most of the time her gut pulled through, and he was always surprised when it happened. Thanks. Aimee smiled at him, and he nodded. He was going to ask her what he should wear, but then figured she'd let him know when it was time,
