A Night Under the Stars (Mia/Fee/Aimee)

[SSA Dr. Spencer Reid]

Spencer was taking Mia and Aimee and DJ to a show at Hayden National Planetarium. It was family night, and they were going to get a private tour from Fiona Kleingeld. He had called her, and they'd discussed a few things, and he had some surprises for the family. He was excited, so as he loaded the kids and Mia into the car, he was all smiles. He buckled DJ in carefully, and gave her a kiss on her brown curls.

Are you ready to go have some fun, little one? She nodded at him, and smiled, and he smiled back. He climbed into the driver's side, and buckled up before glancing around.

Does everyone have what they need? The show will be about two hours, and then I thought we would get some dinner. He nodded when everyone said they had what they needed. He smiled at Mia next. She had come over early, and helped him to get DJ ready.

Are YOU ready? Behind them, DJ laughed. She usually did that whenever he talked to Mia. He equated it to how AImee teased him about his relationship with Mia. He made a face, but rolled his eyes.

All right, everyone. Let's go... He didn't quite know what to expect out of the evening, but he was OK now...he and Mia had been out on a few dates so far, and had been eating lunch together at work quite often. As he drove, he listened to the women chatter. The trek to the planetarium didn't take too long, even with traffic, so they arrived after about 25 minutes. He parked, paid, and then climbed out.

[colo=blue]Ok, ladies. Let's go. He smiled as AImee pulled DJ out, the little girl clutching her animal purse, filled with toys that she "bought" with fake money, a fake set of keys, and "lipstick", which was an old, empty Chapstick case AImee had given her. It was nice, having the whole family together...and Mia was fast becoming part of it, which only scared him a LITTLE.

He opened the door, and stepped inside. They were supposed to wait for Agent Kleingeld, and he was glad that she was already waiting for them.

Mia was enjoying the time she spent with Spencer, DJ, and even Aimee. Although, it took her a bit longer to warm up to the teenager. So far, her relationship with Spencer, which she hadn’t officially categorized yet, was going pretty well. Her mother insisted that they were dating though, as did some of their coworkers. She felt rather comfortable around Spencer. It just felt so natural to have him around.

The blonde was going to the Hayden planetarium with all three Reids tonight. She was looking forward to it, and was excited to be taking DJ along with them. Mia wasn’t so sure about Aimee, seeing as the girl was a wild card. So, she kept in mind to keep an eye on the tall teenager while she got in the car along with DJ and Aimee. She looked back to see DJ sitting happily in her car seat and Aimee sitting there as Spencer got into the driver’s seat.

Does everyone have what they need? The show will be about two hours, and then I thought we would get some dinner.

Mia simply nodded in response. She’d come over early and helped get DJ ready. Not to mention she had helped double check everyone had everything BEFORE they left Spencer’s apartment.

Are you ready? Mia nodded and smiled. ”Yep. I’m ready. “

All right, everyone. Let's go.. Mia was still ever so slightly nervous as Spencer drove out of the parking lot and started on the way to the planetarium. She’d been eating lunch with Spencer quite often at work. The few dates they had been on so far had gone pretty well. However, she couldn’t help but feel like something was going to happen tonight. It was probably nothing though, just a case of nerves. Mia listened to Aimee chatter and even managed to get a statement in a few times.

Spencer pulled into the parking lot, paid, and got out of the car. Ia climbed out of the car and saw that Aimee had already gotten DJ out. Mia smiled at the toddler, clutching her little animal purse. Her brown curls bouncing as she walked, and then Dj grabbed onto Mia’s hand.

”Hold hands. Look both ways.” Dj chirped and Mia smiled. ”Yep that’s right, DJ! You are a very smart girl.” She smiled as she slowed down to meet DJ’s pace. Which meant she had to speed up once they got back on the sidewalk as DJ got excited. But the little girl slowed back down as Spencer opened the door to the planetarium and they walked inside.

”Thank you, Spencer.” Mia smiled as Spencer shut the door and they waited in the lobby. DJ went over to Spencer as agent Kleingeld approached them. Mia smiled warmly at the woman. ”Agent Kleingeld, it’s lovely to see you again.” She made a mental note of the slight bulge of the woman’s abdomen. She would have to remember to congratulate her at a later time.

Fee was waiting, just a bit nervously, for the young couple and Dr. Reid's family to arrive. She was only nervous because she couldn't predict if they'd have a good time, and also, she missed Amahl. She brushed a bit of red hair over her shoulder, and adjusted her cardigan. At just a few minutes until their arrival, she stood, and clipped on her badge that read simply "Fiona." She made sure that everything was ready, and finally, she smiled and went to the door, their tickets in hand. She adjusted her cardigan once more, and shifted her weight from one foot to the other. Her feet hurt already-they usually did by now.

She had dressed carefully that day-her oversized shirt and cardigan were meant to disguise her rapidly-expanding stomach. She and Amahl had yet to announce their news-they wanted to wait until their official wedding. But they'd had to put it off just a bit, and Fee was growing more anxious to tell someone...

Finally, she spotted the tall FBI agent with three females in tow. Fee smiled, and stepped forward, ready to meet them. As Spencer let his family in, Mia addressed her.

Agent Kleingeld, it’s lovely to see you again. She smiled, and nodded.

Likewise. Hello, all. Oh, how adorable are YOU? She spoke to the little girl as Spencer made introductions. She took a deep breath, and started.

Welcome to Hayden Planetarium. I am Fee, I shall be your guide tonight. First off, let's go see some stars, shall we? Fancy some popcorn? Popcorn was a special thing that docents could offer to their family or special guests. The Rossi's had enjoyed it when they'd visited the planetarium, as well. After the four people had gotten their bags of popcorn, and their tickets had been processed and Fee handed them back to the group as souveniers, she led them to the large theatre where the show would begin.

[*]Aimee was looking forward to tonight. Her brother had actually managed to score a couple of dates with Mia, and they going to go to the national Planetarium for "family night," which sort of made her laugh. They weren't much a family..sure, they were blood related, at least the three Reids, but they usually didn't mesh as a family. Her and Spencer were very different, and of course, DJ was his daughter, so she was more like him.

At any rate, they were going to Family Night, and Spence had promised a few surprises. This made her only a TINY bit nervous-she hated when Spencer had "surprises," as they usually WEREN'T. Or they were dumb, like he had gotten the new flavor of milk or whatever. HOWEVER. Now he had a girlfriend, and last time he had a "surprise" that had something to do with a girlfriend, DJ came along.

They finally arrived at the planetarium, and were met by a woman that Aimee had only met briefly, Fiona Kleingeld. Aimee had a knack for names-perhaps her form of edietic memory-but she always remembered names. It looked like they were getting the VIP treatment, and sure enough, Fiona spoke.

Welcome to Hayden Planetarium. I am Fee, I shall be your guide tonight. First off, let's go see some stars, shall we? Fancy some popcorn? Hells yeah. Aimee and carbs were BFFs. Soon, the four were gathered around a large screen in a private room at the Planetarium, and waiting for the show to start. Aimee, being Aimee, whispered to Mia. Kinda.

MIA! Then she dropped her voice. Do you think that Fiona is pregnant, or just fat?

Welcome to Hayden Planetarium. I am Fee, I shall be your guide tonight. First off, let's go see some stars, shall we? Fancy some popcorn? Mia smiled and nodded. She had met the woman a few times before, but not very much. She took a bag of popcorn and watched as DJ toddled behind the redhead into the private room. She smiled and set her popcorn down to help the toddler into the seat SHE wanted. Which just so happened to be next to Aimee, so Mia decided it would be safe to sit next to Spencer.

As the lights began to dim, Mia sat in her chair with her popcorn, looking over at Spencer and then at DJ, who seemed very pleased. Then, of course, there was a not very subtle “whisper”. Mia. The blonde let out a sigh. Aimee didn’t seem like she would know what subtle was if it bit her on the nose. Do you think that Fiona is pregnant, or just fat?

Mia let out a small gasp at the statement as she looked at the teenager. She sighed, collected herself, and managed to reply in a hushed tone. ”Aimee, that’s rude. Although, my opinion, based upon my observations, is that she is probably pregnant. My best guest, she is probably in first bit of her second trimester. “[/color] She hoped that DJ hadn’t overheard what Aimee had asked. The little girl had a knack repeating what she overheard from Aimee.

Spencer kept up the rear as Fiona led them into the lecture room. She was looking oddly-pregnant, if he were correct. He didn't know the Kleingeld's well, but he didn't know why they would keep it a secret. It wasn't his business, though, so he wouldn't ask.

He watched as Mia helped DJ into the furthest seat in the row-next to Aimee, of course, whom DJ adored. He settled in next to Mia, and nodded when Fee spoke.

Here we are! Please, sit anywhere you like. I will go start it, and be right back... He smiled. This would be fun! Then, he heard whispering next to him.

MIA!...Do you think that Fiona is pregnant, or just fat? He rolled his eyes and shook his head. He was about to comment when Mia beat him to it. Aimee, that’s rude. Although, my opinion, based upon my observations, is that she is probably pregnant. My best guest, she is probably in first bit of her second trimester. He nodded.

Fee returned, a smile still on her face. This was one of her happy places, and she found a lot of joy in this. She enjoyed sharing things with her friends and family, and she was glad to teach them things. She placed a hand on her belly for a moment-one of the monkeys growing within was moving, and she felt it. As she faced the family, she removed her hand-she must be careful. No one must know yet.

Let's begin... She dimmed the lights, and let the projector begin. After the initial "whir-whir-whir" of the machine, the universe spilled out across the ceiling. With a swift press of her remote, she laid their seats back, and began her speech.

I agree with Mia. Aimee, you will NOT say a WORD. I don't know why the Kleingeld's haven't announced it, but you won't ask...

Mia was glad to have Spencer back her on telling Aimee to not ask about Fiona’s pregnancy. She didn’t know the Kleingeld’s very well, so she didn’t know why they wouldn’t have announced the pregnancy. But, that was between them. It was a private matter that did not concern herself, and most certainly did not concern Aimee.

The blonde just hoped that DJ wouldn’t repeat what her aunt had said, or any bits of it. The toddler had a habit of repeating phrases or words, especially if they came out of Aimee’s mouth. Mia did not want to have to explain why DJ shouldn’t repeat what she had heard in the recent conversation.
Then, Fiona returned to the room.

” Let's begin...” The lights in the room dimmed so it was dark as the projector started up. It made a whirr-ing noise. It startled Mia ever so slightly, making her grip the arm rest of the seat that she shared with Spencer. But, the universe quickly appeared on the screen, or was it the ceiling above them? Mia couldn’t tell, but she relaxed quickly at the sight as their chairs were leaned back. A grin spread across her face as she watched in awe of their galaxy.

” Welcome to the Milky Way galaxy. It is our vast home...”

As Fiona started into her speech and took them through the wonders of space, Mia lightly lay her hand on Spencer’s. She wrapped her fingers around his hand, having a light hold on him, as if he was her anchor keeping her from floating off into space.

Fiona continued on with her lecture, unaware of the whispered conversations going on in the seats. She smiled-they seem to be enjoying themselves, and she smiled when she noticed that the baby had fallen asleep. She hoped it might be her life soon-and she continued.

And here we find WOH G64 star, the largest known star in the galaxy. Notice it's relevant size to the largest star in our galaxy, Canis Majoris. SHe moved her pointer to indicate the star....

Now let us explore our own galaxy, the Milky Way....The intense Science words felt strange, and sounded foreign in her accent.
