Ainsley sat on the setee, curled against Dave. The couple had been to their first doctor's appointment since Ainsley announced her pregnancy, and they had gotten some interesting news. Everyone was fine, though, and after they'd shopped a bit for some baby things-Ainsley's newest project was to get a nursery set up-Ainsley discovered she was a bit tired, and while she didn't have too many problems with morning sickness, she was VERY prone to exhaustion.
The news came on the Telly next, after Ainsley's rugby game, which Dave had been nice enough to let her watch-they'd gotten home in the last few minutes of the game, and Wales had lost to Germany, but Ainsley supposed that the Welch maybe deserved it. She perked up a bit-a part of the woman would always be Scottish, and loyal to the Queen, as the Mackintosh's (well, Ainsley's parents, that is) weren't pro-secession-and the news man made an announcement about the Royal Baby. Ainsley sat straight up, ignoring the protests from her OWN babies, who wanted to sleep, not play. She was fascinated, her eyes glued to the screen.
On the screen, there was closeup shot of the gold-edged easel on which the announcement was pinned, for witness, as was custom. Ainsley vaguely remembered when Prince Harry was born, though in Scotland, it wasn't quite the fanfare that this birth seemed to get. Perhaps because his mother was a regular old bird, too...in fact, Dunny had known her, actually. Which was kind of cool. Ainsley smiled, and settled back into her spot, wrapped up with her husband.
Her next thought was a bit more selfish, if she were honest. She thought that if they named thier son Prince David, she would be VERY upset. That was HER name for HER son, and damned if some bloody monarch would take it from her. This thought made her giggle, and she shared it with Dave. Finally, the news item ended, and Ainsley sighed. Her old home had a new Prince, and her new one had two more on the way.
