Spencer sat down next to her on the couch as she made herself comfortable, and took his hand in hers. She kissed him, and told him she would be fine, but he wasn't so sure. He hated doing cognitive interviews, and it would be even worse doing it to Signe, forcing her to bring up the painful memories he knew she fought. But he took a deep breath and started.
"Ok. Close your eyes. I want you to think back to the day you were kidnapped. I want you tell me what you see; birds, buildings, everything. Don't leave anything out. Then I want you to picture the man who took you. Try to picture him in your mind. Tell me when you have that by squeezing my hand. Ok, now I want you tell me what you're feeling." He stopped to give Signe time to relax and respond.
Signe did what he asked her to do and went to the day she was kidnapped. She was in the parking lot of her school. She was going to her apartment for a study party with some friends. She squeezed his hand letting him know she was there. He asked her what she saw, how she felt.
"It's cold, late at night. I'm walking to my car, going to a study party for a Psychology project." She saw him coming to her, the memory was so vivid. "He's coming. He's wearing a tan jacket, jeans and a beanie? I don't know it's so dark." She felt herself panicking. She fought to remain calm.
Signe took in a few deep breaths. She calmed herself down and moved her fingers slightly to feel his hands touching her's. He asked her to describe how he took her. If he hit her or not. She shook her head, trying to remember.
"He's standing by me. I open my door and he hit me with a gun but he didn't knock me out. He threw me in my car and tied me up." She squeezed Spencer's hand. She wasn't nearly as anxious as before.

"Good, ok. Now I need you to think forward a little. What was the next immedite thing you remember? Did anyone see anything? Did he start driving right away? Did he speak to you?"
Signe heard Spencer's voice. She shook her head when he asked about if anyone saw him. "It's just us in the parking lot. He called me Jaquline and said if I fell asleep when I woke up we would be home." She thought hard, trying to bring the image to her mind. Trying to remember what happened next. "He's starting the car. I try and scream for help but he points the gun at me saying he'll kill me if I talk." She could feel herself getting warm. She squeezed his hand a little tighter this time.
Signe nodded and took in a deep breath. The image came to life in her mind. She looked around the room. It was dark, cold, dry. "It's dark. The grounds cold and it's really dry. It feels like pavement. My head hurts. I can feel something wet on it. I can't see anything." She took the blindfold off her face and saw him approaching her. Her breathing quickened. "He's here...He's wearing a suit. He's smiling at me." Her breaths pace quickened. She squeezed Spencer's hand tighter. "Ow! He's dragging me. It hurts!"
Signe could feel herself panicking more. She felt the dragging on her legs. She tried to keep up but it was no use. He was going to fast. "I can hear other girls, they're screaming. I can here them crying." She saw a room in the distance and in the room was a bed, unmade. "He's taking us to a room. The dragging stopped." She looked around at the image. He was tying her up. "He's tying me up. He's taking off his jacket. He wont stop smiling at me." Signe began panicking more and more. Her breathing growing more and more frantic. "He's putting on a mask. It's a ski mask. Spencer he gonna hurt me!"
Signe shook her head. She needed to keep going, somewhere in her memories was a clue they were missing and she needed to find it. No...No lets keep going." She said calming down a little more. She loosened her grip on his hands.

He sighed, but nodded reluctantly.
"Ok. Take a deep breath. Let's go on. I need you to tell me if this when the sexual assualt starts. Does he speak? Does he say a name? What do you hear? What do you feel?"
Signe took in a few deep breaths. She went back to the room. He moved closer to her, on top of her. She nodded. "He's breathing down my neck. He keeps calling me Jaquline." She took in a few deep breaths. The assault began going through her head, and like every other time...She was afraid. "He's taking my clothes off. He's breathing down my neck. I can feel something in my side. It's a stinging feeling. It feels wet." Something was wrong. She was beginning to go into a panic attack. Breathing was becoming more difficult. She started squirming in her seat. "He wont stop. I'm crying for help but nobodies coming." She couldn't breath. She was panicking and all she could see or hear was him.

Spencer put his arms around her and spoke.
"Signe, it's OK. You're safe now. Come back to now, OK? Let's take a break, even just for a few moments." He kissed her head softly as she opened her eyes.
