Spencer sat on the couch in the hotel room, watching Signe sleep. They were in Vegas this weekend, meeting his mother, and maybe his father, although as far as he was concerned, William could stay as far away from Signe as he wanted. But maybe, with the baby and all, it was time for him to start forgiving his father, and let him in. His baby deserved grandparents, right?
He had called the hospital the night before, when they'd arrived, tnd his mother would be ready and waiting for them by 10, which meant that they had three more hours. Signe looked so peaceful right now, and she'd been SO tired lately that he was just going to let her sleep.
He sighed, and settled back, thinking some more, hoping that his mother was having a good day.
Signe had been exausted. She was beginning to show that she was pregnant which was something that always made her super excited. People loved talking to pregnant women. She found this out fairly quick. They had just arrived in Vegas the day before and Signe was exausted. They were early to bed and early to rise sadly. After a few months had gone by since the proposal she had found it hard to sleep without Spencer.
She opened her eyes and looked around, slightly disoriented. She saw Spencer sitting on the couch and sighed. No wonder she woke up. "What are you doing over there Spencer?" She said motioning for him to come lay with her in bed. She placed her hand on the bump on her stomach. It had grown a lot in the month. They were planning on coming long before this but when her parents got into a fight before leaving Signe and Spencer had to stay home. Her father was sticking around or a while and stayed a couple weeks. He had flown home and was going to work things out, that was something that put Signe at ease.
They had found out that they were going to have a baby girl right before going to Vegas. A beautiful baby girl. Signe couldn't be happier. When she felt Spencer finally next to her she smiled and placed his hand on her stomach. "You ready to get that reading done to your daughter?" Spencer had begun reading to the baby and they even had played her music. Spencer said it made the baby smarter. Signe just thought it was silly.

Spencer looked up when Signe stirred. He smiled; he had been so happy these past few months; the proposal, finding out that they were going to have a baby girl, and Signe's dad being around...He replied when she spoke.
"I couldn't sleep. So I've been up since about 4, just watching you sleep. How's little Diana Jennifer?" He used the name he liked; they hadn't really discussed it yet, but how could they name her anything else?
She motioned him over to the bed, and he crawled in next to her, placing a hand on her stomach. He was OK as long as the baby didn't kick when he touched her...that freaked him out. He smiled at Sig when she asked if he was ready for their daily chapter and music time...he knew she thought it was silly, but why give up the things he liked until the baby got here? Just include her. Besides, his mom read to him in the womb, and he turned out to be a genius...
"Yes, dear, I am. Let's see, Tess D'Urbevilles, or Babar?" He'd begun to read the baby some kid's books at Signe and JJ's urging, although he still preferred to read to her in Russian. "Babar might be better; Mom and I have to see Grandma in a few hours."
Signe rolled her eyes when he pulled out the two books. Why couldn't he just read little kids books like all the other dads? She smiled and shook her head. "Spencer I think what you're reading her is going over her head. She doesn't have an IQ of 187 like you." She couldn't help but chuckle a little bit. She reached over and grabbed her phone, checking for any text messages from her dad, so far...There was nothing.
"Spencer...Did my dad text you at all about his issues with my mom? I'm getting a little paranoid." She said looking down at him.

Spencer sighed. He tossed aside "Tess" and held up Babar.
"I know she doesn't *yet*, but if I do this, she will. I will stick to Babar, OK? We'll do Tess sometime when Mommy isn't looking," he said, grinning. He began to read quietly as Sig checked her phone, and made a face. She asked him if he'd recieved a text from her father, telling him if her parents were doing better, and he shook his head.
"No, sorry, sweetie. I haven't gotten a text since he arrived home from the airport."
Signe put her phone down and rubbed her stomach. She liked the feeling of the small bump that was her baby. She had been thinking a lot about meeting Spencer's mother. Part of her wondered what she would be like, if she would like her. So many things could happen. What if she was worse than her mother.
She looked down and saw something that made her smiled a huge smile. She saw her baby belly and her soon to be husband. The two most important things in the world right there by her. She ran her fingers through Spencer's hair and smiled. That was the one thing she loved about him...His hair. "Don't ever cut your hair, you hear me?" She said looking down at him.

Spencer sighed and finished the story of the mischevious French elephant before leaning over and kissing Signe's stomach. She ran her fingers through his hair as he rested his head on her chest, telling him to never cut it. He grinned.
"I don't plan to...well, maybe if it gets TOO long, I will, but I like this length, too." He smiled up at her before speaking again.
"Ok, so we have about two hours before we have to be Bennington. It'll take us about 20 minutes to get there, but Mom should be ready to meet us when we get there. So that give us about an hour and a half. What do you want to do?"
Signe smiled and dropped her head on the pillow propping her up. She was awake now and wasn't going back to sleep any time soon. She looked at him when he said they had a little over an hour till they should leave. She sighed and shrugged.
"I guess that means I need to get dressed and get ready to go right?" She said as she stood up and walked over to the bathroom. "Do you wanna call for some breakfast while I shower?" She said walking into the bathroom.

Spencer smiled and brushed a piece of hair behind Signe's ear before she spoke. She stood up and headed for the bathroom to dress, asking him to order up breakfast. He nodded.
"Yep." He called down and ordered up some eggs, toast, one orange juice, and one coffee, and then settled back when he heard the shower running. He was dreading meeting his dad; he'd fibbed a little to Signe when they'd left, telling her he couldn't get ahold of him. He actually had only left a message with his dad's Paralegal, and the woman hadn't confirmed with him yet. Of course, it would be just his luck that the woman would call while they were visiting his Mom.
That was the other thing he was worried about; that his mother might not think that Signe was a good match. In her letters, she seemed to indicate that she did, but it was different when you met someone in person.
God, why couldn't he have a normal family, like everyone else?
Signe finished her shower and dried her hair. Her curls fell down to her shoulders and she felt she would just leave it and not do anything with it. She did her make up got dressed in some jeans and a new maternity shirt she hadn't gotten to wear and and came out of the bathroom to see the breakfast coming in. Great timing!
She noticed that Spencer seemed to be thinking about something, she didn't know what it was. She was a profiler, not a mind reader. She walked over to him and sat by his side as she took a sip of her orange juice. She placed a hand on his back and gave him a nice rub.
"Spence...What's wrong? What ya thinking about?" She said placing a hand on her stomach.

Spencer was still in thought when a knock came at the door. He stood to let the concierge in with the food, and as the man was setting the try onto the table, Signe emerged from the bathroom. She sat down next to him, sipping her orange juice. She rubbed his back, and he turned to face her as she asked him what he was thinking about. He smiled.
"Just today. I think my mom is going to love you as much as I do. I am just a little worried, because I haven't confirmed with my dad for sure, and he hasn't gotten back to me." He picked up the mug of coffee, and stirred in some sugar and milk.
Signe nodded at his statement. He was sure his mother would love her. That was important, everything rode on that. When he said that he wasn't sure about his father she sighed. She knew that the relationship between him and his father was not ideal. She wished that it wasn't so. She wished he could have a relationship with his father like she did with hers.
"I'm sorry...Well maybe if we can't meet him this time maybe he could fly up to Quantico and see us." She said trying to give him some options. "I'm really excited to meet your mother."

Spencer fought the urge to snort at Signe when she said that maybe his father could fly up to Quantico...in the 6 years he'd been with the FBI, his father had never mentioned it. Spencer shrugged.
"Maybe. It's mostly about Mom; I can't wait for you to meet her. So eat quickly, OK?"
Signe nodded. He didn't really care much about his father but she could tell that was a lie. She could see that it was hurting him. He really wanted to have this amazing relationship with his father but obviously it wasn't that simple. He had told her that she needed to hurry and eat. She looked at the food and then back to Spencer.
"But we have more than an hour till we have to be there don't we?"
