Signe couldn't help but smile when Diana cut off her son and asked about her life. Where she went to school and what not. She looked at Spencer and then looked back to Diana.
"Well I grew up just outside of Chicago and went to school with another agent in the BAU. Derek Morgan...Ummm I went to the University of Illinois until umm...Well until I was a victim in a rape case." She paused for a moment and thought about how to put this. Talking about rape was always hard.
"Spencer was actually the first agent to find me. The BAU was on that case and he found me and waited with me until the rest of the help got there. After that I went back to UOI and I graduated from there and then went on to the FBI Academy." She paused and looked around, feeling oddly exposed due to the talk about the rape. For some reason she was feeling very odd about it. Maybe it was because of her fear that the baby could hear it.

Spencer took Signe's hand as she began to talk and shook his head at his mom. He smiled, though, pleased that his mom liked her enough to engage. It usually took two or three meetings for her to warm up to someone-perhaps it was because she was Spencer's mate, or maybe that the two women were sort of similar-Spencer didn't know. He ate his food as he listened to Signe tell his mother about her schooling. And then she told his mother about her rape, and he squeezed her hand, and looked at her, as she spoke softly.
He noticed, when she finished, that she was looking around. He realized that Signe felt exposed somehow, and he reached out for her, taking her hand again.
"You remember, Mom? I wrote to you about her case." Diana nodded.
I remember. You were like a white knight, I remember thinking, saving a young maiden from the evil Grendel.
Signe smiled when she said that she remembered the letter about her case. She looked at Spencer who was holding her tight. She always felt safe with him, no matter what she knew that she was going to be okay. No fear anymore, she had to admit she liked the feeling. She looked back down at her belly and then back at Spencer, then to his mother. "Well Diana I must say that now that I have met you I can't imagine naming our daughter anything other than Diana Jennifer."

Spencer grinned big when Signe said that she believed that naming the Baby after his mom was the right idea more especially. He nodded.
"I agree."
Diana spoke then, blushing lightly, the same way that Spencer does.
I am honored. This has been such a great day.
Just then, the three were interrupted by a doctor.
"Ms. Reid? Dr. Reid? I am sorry to cut your visit short, but I need to see your mom for follow-ups about her new meds. Can you come upstairs with me, Diana, and Nurse Stacey?" Diana nodded, and spoke again as she stood up.
Of course. Spencey, Signe, it was really great to see you both. Signe, don't let my son be a stranger, now.
